Lectures by Our Department

Our laboratory offers a systematic lecture course in “Nutritional Epidemiology and Public Health Nutrition” for students majoring in public health. The course provides a structured introduction to nutritional epidemiology and public health nutrition.

Through the course, students will:

• Review the health and nutrition issues in Japan and other countries
• Understand the methods of dietary assessment used in nutritional epidemiology
• Closely read epidemiological studies that examine the association between diet, nutrition, and health, and critically discuss the strengths and limitations of nutritional epidemiologic research
• Gain an overview of nutrition policy in Japan and consider what is needed for its implementation in society
